IHC moved for Hashmi’s disqualification for next polls

Islamabad High Court (IHC) has been moved for disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf (PTI) President Javed Hashmi.

A citizen, Muhammad Afzal, has filed constitutional petition through lawyer Raees Mumtaz. Election Commission has been made respondent in the petition.

The petitioner has taken plea in his petition that Hashmi has levelled serious allegations against chief justice of Pakistan and army by holding a press conference. Therefore, he should be disqualified from contesting next election, he prayed.

It was further taken plea that Hashmi has harmed Supreme Court and army under a plan and attempt has been made to tarnish image of constitutional institutions. It is breach of Article 25 of the Constitution.
