The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Wednesday rejected the election rigging allegations levelled by former ECP additional secretary Afzal Khan.
The audio evidence of Khan’s revelations was examined in the ECP meeting held in Islamabad with acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali in the chair.
The meeting condemned Khan’s statements regarding rigging and said that international observers had also hailed transparency in these elections. The meeting said that Khan levelled allegation on “personal grounds” and there were “no solid proofs of rigging”.
Khan had revealed that last year’s elections were massively rigged and people’s mandate was “stolen”.
