The first Eid special train from Karachi to Peshawar via Multan, Raiwind and Sahiwal embarked on its journey on the scheduled time on Saturday. According to a schedule issued by Pakistan Railway, the train will reach Peshawar Cantonment early on Sunday.

Pakistan Railways has decided to run five special trains on Eidul Fitr to facilitate passengers to reach their hometown to celebrate Eid with their families.

According to railway officials, they had to add more bogies to the train while keeping in view the increase in number of passengers on the occasion of Eid.

According to the railway minister, the federal government, led by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has brought about major changes in the infrastructure of Pakistan Railways, which was destroyed by “criminal negligence of the previous governments”.
