The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday once again directed the Malir SSP to submit comments on a petition against murder of a captive in an alleged fake encounter by police in Gadap Town.

The direction came on a petition filed by Kha Jan who moved the court against illegal detention of his son, Shah Hussain, and murder of his nephew, Zakirullah, in an alleged fake encounter.

The petitioner submitted that his son and nephew along with family members were heading towards their native town via bus on June 28 when their vehicle was intercepted by Rangers and Police personnel at Kashmore. He said the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) get them out of the bus and whisked them away.

Later, LEAs shifted them to Karachi and detained them at Gadap Town police station, he added. He claimed the LEAs demanded money for safe release of the two, but as they refused to pay the bribe, the LEAs declared Zakirullah a member of banned organisation and killed him in a fake encounter.

The petitioner said that Gadap Town police had kept his son in illegal detention and demanded money for his release. The petitioner requested the court to direct LEAs to produce his son in court and order probe into the murder of Zakirullah.
