Following the registration of FIRs against 3,000 workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, including PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri’s son Hussain Mohiuddin, an anti-terrorism court on Wednesday ordered to discharge names of 11 women and two elderly men of PAT, arrested for protesting against Model Town incident at Shahdara, from FIRs.

The court also sent 16 accused involved in same incident to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.

Earlier, the Shahdara police produced the accused before ATC Judge Rai Ayub Marth.

The counsel for the accused submitted that the accused were arrested without any base.

The accused also moved bail applications and the court issued notices to Shahdara Town and Shahdara Morh SHOs for June 19.

Meanwhile, speaking to a private TV channel, Mohiuddin condemned registration of case, saying that policemen were involved in murdering innocent PAT workers who did not resist police action.
