The Supreme Court (SC) has sought reply from CDA within 15 days on allotment of plots in Sahiwal as alternate to land in Islamabad.

A three-member bench of SC led by Justice Nasirul Mulk took up the case for hearing Wednesday.

Justice Nasirul Mulk said, “On what grounds CDA has cancelled the farm house plot after payment of amount. CDA was not entitled to cancel this plot without solid reasons.”

Justice Ejaz Chaudhry said, “The CDA officials are bound to discharge their obligations as per CDA rules and regulations. As to why the record was not reviewed before allotment of the plot.”

The CDA former officer appeared before the court while Nazir Bhutta advocate represented the petitioner.

CDA officer told the court no alternate land has been allotted to Ghulam Rasul.

The court directed him to ascertain from Sahiwal administration if any allotment of land has been made to the petitioner or otherwise on the basis of credibility certificate. Reply should be filed within two weeks to this effect, court ordered.
