Mehmoodur Rasheed alleges govt backing elements defaming army, ISI
Government is involved in backing the elements involved in defaming Pakistan Army and Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader and Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Mehmoodur Rasheed while talking to journalists outside the Punjab Assembly on Tuesday.
Mehmoodur Rasheed said that his party will defend armed forces of the country and intelligence agencies at all fora and no one would be allowed to degrade them.
He lashed out at Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah for his anti PTI stance, statements and suggested him to follow the political norms.
He said that since the PTI has announced the May 25, meeting in Faisalabad, leaders of the ruling party have accelerated the negative propaganda against his party and the chairman.
Mehmoodur Rasheed termed one-year performance of ruling party as poor and said that it failed completely to overcome the crises faced by the country and fulfill aspirations of the masses.
Responding a question, he said that the PTI condemns attack on any journalist irrespective as to which media group he belongs.
The PTI leader also questioned the silence spectator role of the government and the prime minister over allegation of a media group on ISI.
