Deadly viral disease Newcastle generally known as “Ranikhet” claims lives of precious peacocks as seven more birds fell victim of the disease on Saturday.
Wildlife department sources said that seven peacocks died of Newcastle in Sagrorr Junejo village of Mithi, Tharparkar.
After recent deaths total tally of peacocks killed in one month has reached seven. The people of Thar have expressed grave concerns over the continuous deaths of the precious birds which are the identity of the area. They urged the officials of the concerned department and provincial government for taking solid steps to stop further outspread of the dreadful disease which killed hundreds of birds during past few years.
