The traders community of twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad has expressed concerns over the unannounced electricity load shedding, saying their businesses are badly affected by the rampant outages.
The traders said that Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) cut electricity without following any schedule. They said that it is just the beginning of the summer season and the country has started facing the nuisance prolonged load shedding, adding they fear commercial activities will come to a halt this summer if the outages continued this way.
They said that the electricity supply company should make planning to ensure adequate supply to the traders and business community, and announce a schedule of the load shedding.
Meanwhile, residents of the twin cities also said that unannounced electricity outages are troublesome for them. They said that prolonged load shedding specifically in various areas of Rawalpindi leads to shortage of water. They demanded higher officials of electricity supply company to take notice of the situation and ensure that there were no outages other than the announced ones.
