The appointment of Maryam Nawaz, daughter of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, as chairperson Prime Minister Youth Loan Scheme (PMYLS) has been challenged at the Lahore High Court, a private news channel reported on Thursday.
The petitioner alleged that Maryam Nawaz was selected for the post for being the daughter of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, which is void.
He argued that under the 18th constitutional amendment, a chairperson should be appointed after approval of the Council of Common Interest.
The LHC issued notice to the federal government and sought reply within two weeks.
