Effective Kazakhstan initiatives: VII Astana Economic Forum (AEF)

This year Kazakhstan capital will host one of the most prominent events recognised in the modern global community for the 7th time that gathers more than 10 000 participants from 160 countries from all over the world, VII Astana Economic Forum (AEF). One of the main events within the Forum frameworks is II World Anti-Crisis Conference (WAC).

On Dec 15th 2011 the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev proposed an initiative about organizing World Anti-Crisis Conference (WAC).

67th session of the UN General Assembly supported Convocation and holding the conference in Astana.

The result of the I World Anti-Crisis Conference was Astana declaration which outlines main directions of the World Anti-Crisis Plan. Outcomes of VI Astana Economic Forum were Astana declaration and recommendations that were transferred to the decision making level of G20, G-8, International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Additionally, data of final WAC documents were among official documents of the 68th session of the UN General Assembly.

This year II WAC begins its work with Plenary session within the frameworks of the 47th meeting of the Asian Development Bank Board of Governors on May 2nd 2014 and finishes its activity at VII Astana Economic Forum. Ministers of finance, economy and central bank leaders of the UN member-states from 150 countries will participate.

Key programme of II WAC includes Plenary session, three panel sessions and two events in the format of open debates. To be precise, it is going to be held in the format of dialogue of Ministers of finance and economy oriented at discussing of the recovery of balanced world economy growth .

In addition, there is going to be a traditional dialogue of leaders with the participation of Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov where Project of World Anti-Crisis Plan is planned to be adopted.
