A college professor was gunned down near Ghareebabad area of the city on Monday.
According to police, unidentified gunmen opened fire on his car near Ghareebabad underpass leaving him dead on the spot. The victim, Professor Saifuddin, was vice chancellor of Government College of Technology.
His driver was also seriously injured in the firing and later he was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Meanwhile, at least eight people were injured in an armed clash between two groups in Frontier Colony.
