The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) say they will not attack public places after the militant outfit decided not to extend the ceasefire, a news channel reported on Friday.

In a statement, TTP spokesman Shahidullah Shahid said some elements could launch attacks after the Taliban refused to extend the ceasefire, adding that the Taliban should not be blamed for attacks on public places. However, he said the militants would attack government installations.

He said the Taliban would welcome peace talks if the government was serious in resolving the issues.
