Armed men reportedly murdered two people belonging from the Shia Hazara community on Sariab Road, Quetta late Saturday night.
According to the police, armed militants singled out two members of Hazara community from a passenger bus and opened fire on them from a very close range.
A police official said that one man was killed on the spot while the other died on his way to the hospital. The attackers sped away on their motorcycles after the firing.
SP Imran Qureshi has termed the incident as an “act of targeted killing”.
Per details, the passenger bus was preparing to leave for Karachi when it was intercepted by militants. Police and personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) reached the spot and launched an initial investigation into the incident.
The dead bodies of the victims were rushed to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for medico-legal formalities.
According to unofficial sources, the number of kidnapped tribesmen is about 100 and they had been picked up for their involvement in the drug trade.
