LAHORE-

Traders of Ichra Market of Lahore on Friday held a protest on Ferozpur Road in protest of Thursday night’s blast that left 12 people injured.

A shop located at Pakistan Chowk in the area was the target of the blast.

According to the Bomb Disposal Squad, 250 to 300 gram explosive material was used in the Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

The traders were protesting against the alleged negligence of the police authorities who, they said, have been earlier informed that a group claiming to be associated to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had been threatening the shop owner to pay Rs2 million as extortion.

The shop owner stated that he had informed the police about the threatening calls as well as about the gunfire shot at his residence in March.

The protest led to a massive gridlock at Ferozpur Road and adjoining routes of Wahdat Road and Muslim Town.
