In defiance to Interior Ministry orders, Sultan Azam Taimuri has refused to take additional charge of SSP Operations.
In the aftermath of F-8 Katchery mishap, the interior minister had ordered transferring of IG Islamabad Sikandar Hayat and SSP operation Dr Rizwan.
On the order of interior minister, additional charge of IG Islamabad was given to DIG Khalid Khattak and SSP Operations to Sultan Azam Taimuri.
However Sultan Azam Taimuri has refused to take the additional charge and has adopted the stance that Khalid Khattak is his junior and he has been given the charge of IG thus he cannot work under him and would not take the charge of SSP Operations.
Meanwhile, the government has also not yet decided whether to sent National Crisis Management Cell DG Tariq Lodhi to establishment division or return him back to IB. The decision would be taken after the Prime Minister return from abroad.
