Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz Hussain was bestowed with a humanitarian award to mark World Water Day by Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar.
Bahria Town CEO Zain Malik received the award of behalf of his father.
Governor Sarwar congratulated Malik Riaz family and said that the chairman Bahria Town had played a prominent role in social work. “Successful and prominent businesses have a responsibility to serve community and Malik Riaz Hussain is fulfilling his responsibility in a befitting manner,” he added.
The organiser of the event; Human Rights Group, highlighted and appreciated the social services of Malik Riaz. They said Malik Riaz is the human friendly aspect of the business community.
They said Bahria Town gave Rs 200 million for the drought victims in Tharparkar as compared to Rs100 million announced by the provincial government. More than 100,000 people are provided free meals twice a day by Bahria Town Dastarkhwans, which have been setup across the country at 15 locations.
