- Says killing polio workers un-Islamic
The clerics of Islamic Advisory Council (IAC) have declared the anti-polio drives in conformity with Sharia and violence against the polio workers un-Islamic on Friday.
The clerics and the scholars of Islamic Advisory Academy, Fiqa Academy Jamia Al Azhar and Islamic Development Bank in a meeting held with Imam-e-Haram at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) made this declaration.
In a handout issued after the meeting, the clerics and scholars categorically declared the anti-polio drives valid and in conformity with the Sharia, while the violence against the polio workers inhuman and against the teachings of Islam.
It further said that the attacks on polio vaccinators, restraining them from dispensing polio vaccination and not letting the children to provide necessary protection from the polio menace in parts of Pakistan, Afghnistan and Nigeria are blatant violations of the teachings of Islam.
The handout further said that the children in Pakistan and Somalia are being hit by polio without the protective doses of vaccines and the violence to impede polio drives condemnable.

But, innocent people cannot be blamed for follies they have not committed”.
He said during past few months, the government had enhanced security at Parliament Lodges and now every vehicle was fully checked except those carrying parliamentarians and ministers. “We want to see rule of law and this is manifested in the traffic system and every violator either from judiciary, military, politicians and other citizens are penalized on traffic violations.”
Chaudhry Nisar informed the House that he conducted thorough investigation from last night and gathered the record of CCTV cameras and it was found, “the allegation of the member was totally baseless”.
“I have informed the House about my findings. Had I got any information, I would have presented before the House. Now, if the said member has any evidence he should provide us and we will investigate the matter to the bottom”.
