Envoys present credentials to president

The envoys of the United Kingdom, Afghanistan, Russian Federation, Mauritania and Mexico presented their credentials to President Mamnoon Hussain at a ceremony held at the President’s House on Thursday.

The ambassadors and high commissioner, after presenting their credentials separately called on the president and discussed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.

The president congratulated the newly-appointed envoys to Pakistan and expressed hope that they will work for further boosting the already existing close and cordial relations of their respective countries with Pakistan.

The president also wished the newly-appointed ambassadors a comfortable and productive stay in Pakistan.

The envoys thanked the president for the warm welcome and assured him that they would contribute to their best to further strengthen and diversify ties of their respective countries with Pakistan.

Earlier, upon the arrival of envoys-designate, the national anthems of Pakistan and their respective countries were played and Guard of Honour by a contingent of Pakistan Army was presented to them.

The envoys included Philip Barton, British High Commissioner-designate, Janan Mosazai, Afghan Ambassador-designate, Alexey Yurievich Dedov, Russian Ambassador-designate, Shaikh Sayed Ahmed Al-Bakai Walad Hamadi, Mauritanian Ambassador-designate (non-resident) and Ulises Canchola Gutierrez, Mexican Ambassador-designate (non-resident).
