Power shortfall eases to 1,800 MW

The power shortfall in the country further eased to 1,800 MW as the total generation on Sunday was recorded as 9,350 MW against the demand of 11,150 MW at 1000 hours.

According to daily data released by National Transmission and Dispatch Company Limited (NTDC), the hydel generation stood at 3,580 MW, Thermal 790 MW and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) 4,980 MW.

The hydel generation has significantly improved and stood at 3,580 MW as the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) increased water discharge from both water reservoirs Tarbela and Mangla dams.
