Former prime minister and senior leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that he was not afraid of political revenge as his hands were clear and he was not guilty.
Talking to media persons on Saturday, Gilani said the PPP had been targeted by dictators and democratic governments in the past as it remained outspoken in favour of national interest and public welfare.
He said fake references were prepared against him and other leaders of the party but he had nothing to worry about as courts would prove him guiltless. Gilani avoided to comment on the performance of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and said that it was not a secret and all were well aware what the NAB was doing.
He said that entire nation wanted to get rid of the menace of terrorism and extremism. He said the PPP being representative of common man desires successful peace talks.
The PPP leader said the masses were anxiously waiting for outcome of dialogue with the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as it will play a vital role in restoration of peace.
