Former Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that drone attacks were in contravention of Pakistan’s sovereignty, as well as UN Charter.
Expressing himself while talking to a delegation of People’s Youth Organization (PYO), Lahore division, he said that his past stance had always been as such and remains as such; citing his government’s barring of NATO supplies over the issue.
He also said that strong democracy was mandatory for Pakistan’s integrity and security, as “PPP had strengthened democracy during its tenure, barring any further entry for um-democratic elements”.
Blaming foreign elements as a conniving factor in creating unrest and political humdrum in the federation, he said that political elements had conducted a lot of experiments in the past, weakening the country, while PPP had always strived to serve the masses.
“We would carry on our unrequited support for all democratic norms and provide all possible cooperation and encouragement to PML-N’s 5-year legitimate rule,” he said.
Declaring that PPP was still the major political force in country, he said that after ‘political activation’ of Bilawal, PPP had once again stolen the limelight and would re-emerge in coming years.
What Gillani says is in direct contradiction of what the US says. I trust the US more than any Pakistani politician.
Humm….
