Balochistan launches operation against terrorists, 3 held in Mastung

Authorities in Balochistan on Friday launched an operation against terrorists under the supervision of Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch .
According to reports, the decision for a military operation was taken at a meeting between Interior Minister Chaudary Nisar, CM Baloch, Chief Secretary Balochistan Babar Yaqoob Fateh and Inspector General Frontier Corps (IGFC) Maj-Gen Ejaz Shahid on Thursday night.
In line with the decision, at least three suspects were detained on Friday by security forces during a full scale operation in Mastung’s Kanak and Derringer areas.
Prior to the launch of the search operation, entry and exit point of Kanak and Derringer were sealed.
Security forces including the Frontier Corps, police, the Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF), Levies and recruits from Balochistan Constabulary jointly launched the mission which was also assisted by helicopters and armoured personnel carriers.
The operation began hours after the Shia Hazara community ended its two-day sit-in on assurance of the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan for taking action against terrorists who carried out the Mastung bomb attack on pilgrims which left at least 25 Hazara people dead.
