Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-S) chief Maulana Samiul Haq has alleged the government is not providing help in regard to holding talks with the Taliban.
While talking to a private TV channel, the JUI-S chief said, “Although government gave a green signal to me for holding talks with the Taliban, it is not supporting me on this issue and I will unveil the reality on this matter in next few days.”
Samiul Haq stated that the government seems non-serious on negotiations with the TTP and that he can do nothing if the government takes no interest in the matter.
He said that negotiations are conducted on bilateral movement of both parties, while the government is still confused on the issue.
“The government has also used force to solve this issue, while use of force is not the solution of any problem,” he added.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had earlier reportedly given the task to the JUI-S chief to go ahead with the talks with the TTP
