Mercury levels dropped further on Tuesday in the ongoing cold wave across the country. The Metrological Department has predicted further drop in the temperature in the next two to three days.
Minimum temperature was recorded in Kalat at -15°C, followed by -13°C in Quetta.
Temperature in Islamabad broke its 46-year record with -2°C.
According to Met Office, a westerly wave is prevailing over upper parts of the county and is expected to persist during the next 24 hours.
Cloudy weather with rain is expected in areas of Lahore, Gujranwala, Hazara division,Kashmir, Malakand, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Sargodha divisions, Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Severe cold temperature and snowfall has hampered the daily lives in areas of North Balochistan, Gilgit, Skardu, Astore, Diamar and Hunza Nagar.
Heavy snowfall in Malakand Division, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir has led to blockade of roads linked to other parts of the country.
Winter rains are likely to begin after mid-January which will followed by the Siberian cold wave.
Temperatures recorded during last 24 hours in different areas were -12°C in Skardu, -10°C in Parachinar, -7°C in Astore, Gupis, -6°C in Malamjabba, Drosh and Murree and -5°C in Gilgit.
