Shia leader unhurt, two killed in Karachi attack

As many as two people were killed and another injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on the vehicle of a Shia leader in Gulistan-e-Johar on Saturday night.
According to initial reports, Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) leader Mirza Yousuf remained unhurt in the attack. However, one of his guards and a policeman were killed and his companion was injured.
The unidentified attackers fled from the scene after police personnel, deployed for the MWM leader’s security, opened fire on them.
Soon after the incident, people took to the streets and closed down shops in Gulstan-e-Johar Block 12. The MWM condemned the attack and demanded that the government apprehend the attacker as soon as possible.
