Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Friday said that the unanimous passage of resolution against drone attacks in the United Nations General Assembly was a big diplomatic achievement for Pakistan.
Talking to the journalists after the inauguration of a painting exhibition at Hunderkada, he said, “The diplomatic efforts of the present government bear fruit and the entire world supported Pakistan’s stance on drone attacks.”
Similarly, the European Union had granted concessions to Pakistani exports which would prove helpful in increasing exports, he added.
To a question, he said that scarcity of cinema houses was a factor behind decrease of production of movies in the country and the government had granted five-year duty exemption to the cinema houses to help revive the industry. He said that difference of the opinion should be expressed through peaceful means adding that painters and artists expressed their feeling through the paints and brush not through guns.
Pakistan was a beautiful country and there was need to highlight beauty around us, he added.
The minister said that the government was fully committed in promoting art and culture of the country.
