Former Punjab chief minister Dost Mohammad Khosa has said that he has nothing to do with the kidnapping of his former wife and actress Zeba alias Sapna Khan.

Khosa was responding to the queries posed by CIA SP Umer Virk and DSP Khalid Abubaker during the course of case’s investigation at Kotwali Police Station on Tuesday. Sapna’s family lead by her sister Hina Khan and father Missal Khan were also present on the occasion.

Khosa’s lawyer Zubair Chaudary had reported to the court on November 16 that his client had married Sapna in Green Town at her residence and later on February 28, 2011 their daughter was born named Mah Gul.

While providing the divorce certificate, daughter’s birth certificate and other relating documents, he said that after the divorce on June 19, 2011 his client did not have any connection with Sapna.

On the other hand, Noman alias Nomi, Khosa and Sapna’s mutual friend, told the police that Sapna had come to his house, took his car and said that she was going to meet Khosa.

“She took my car and said she was going to Khosa’s house. I do not know where she went after that,” he said.

Sapna’s family has alleged that the police had been reluctant in interrogating Khosa owing to his political influence while the investigation team has been changed twice during the past two and half years. On the contrary, they said, the police had been investigating the family of the slain actress.

Terming the documents provided by Khosa ‘fake’, Hina Khan, the petitioner to the case in Lahore High Court, pointed out a few contradictions in the case presented by Khosa’s lawyer Zubair Chaudhary.

She said that the divorce certificate provided by Khosa’s lawyer was obtained from Green Town’s Union Council 140 which stated the divorce date to be October 11, 2011, whereas in court the lawyer had stated the date of divorce to be June 19, 2011. Moreover, they never resided in Green Town and had been living in Johar Town, she added.

Earlier on Tuesday last week, a division bench of Lahore High Court had ordered police to interrogate the accused in actress Sapna Khan’s alleged kidnap-cum-murder case and submit report till first week of January, 2014.

The bench earlier had summoned all members of investigating team headed by CIA (organized crime) SP Umar Virk, who informed the court that nominated accused, ex-husband and former chief minister Punjab Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa, Rana Fahim and Faisal had been summoned for December 14.

The petitioner counsel submitted that Race Course Police had lodged a case in 2012 against Khosa on charges of kidnap and murder of his former wife Sapna but police had not arrested the nominated accused.

The petitioner earlier had submitted that Sapna in June 2010 had gone to 12-B Ackmen road GOR-1 the residence of the respondent Khosa from where she went missing.

The counsel had said that two of the cell phones of Sapna were switched off after her departure. When her father Missal Khan had called Khosa he too had not responded. Rather he had threatened his family with consequences and sent text to his son to be quiet in the matter, he added.

Missal Khan had alleged that Khosa along with his henchmen Muhammad Fahim Amjad, Sajjad Ahmad, Shahir Dawood Butt, Rana Tanveer, Javaid Yaseen and Shahid had kidnapped his daughter and later killed her.

The Race Course police had registered another FIR against Missal Khan and others on the complaint of Dost Khosa accusing them of fraud and kidnap of his former wife Sapna Khan.

Khosa had also approached the court seeking recovery of his ex-wife Sapna Khan and a case against her family.
