Six Punjab University (PU) students were presented in the anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday.
The Lahore police had registered nine cases against 121 students of the PU. Twenty one students have been named in the FIR while 100 have been listed as “unidentified”. Charges against the students range from misbehaving with teachers, violence, damaging public property and blocking roads.
Violent protests took place in several areas of Lahore on Monday following a police and PU administration raid at a hostel. Activists from the Islami Jamiat Tulba (IJT) took to the streets and blocked traffic on several roads by snatching the keys of buses and other vehicles. A bus was also torched at Wahdat Road.
