At least two people including a policeman were killed on Monday as tension prevailed in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where people demonstrated violent protests against the Rawalpindi tragedy.
According to police, a large number of people were gathered in main bazaar to stage a protest against the Rawalpindi incident which left 10 people dead on the day of the Ashura, when unknown miscreants opened fire on demonstrators.
A policeman was among the two people killed and three other injured in Monday’s incident.
Following the firing, a tense situation prevailed in the area where shopkeepers shutdown market.
Wounded people were shifted to nearby hospitals while a heavy contingent of police was also deployed in the area.
Police, meanwhile, arrested three suspects from the same area.
The Police also launched an investigation into the incident.
