Former military dictator Pervez Musharraf Tuesday filed a petition in Sindh High Court for exclusion of his name from Exit Control List (ECL).

The petition filed by Musharraf’s lawyer in SHC stated that former President has been granted bail in all four cases against him therefore there was no reason to put his name on the ECL.

The petition further stated that Musharraf’s mother was staying in the UAE and is suffering from a serious illness thus he should be allowed to travel abroad to visit his ill mother.

The court issued notices to the Federal government and Interior Ministry, seeking their recommendations.

Musharraf was placed on the Exit Control List by the Director General Immigration and Passport on April 7 due to a directive by the Sindh High Court. A circular was issued to all the exit points including the airports to ensure that the former president did not leave the country.

  1. Musharraf mother case is genuine ,he must be permitted to go to see his ailing mother who can"t stand without any support. In such condition ,interior Ministry show sympathy by allowing allowing him to go to Dubai.
