The establishment division has notified 79 additional secretaries about the reversal of their position to joint secretaries. These notices were issued after the declaration that promotion orders of aforementioned secretaries were rendered null and void by the Supreme Court.
As per media reports, 79 joint secretaries of District Management Division (DMD) were promoted to the posts of additional secretaries in February 2013 and Oria Maqbool Jan challenged their promotion orders in SC.
All the promotions of grade 21 officers made by the Central Promotion Board (CPB) on February 11, 14 and 28 were nullified by SC.
On the other hand, barrister Zafar Ullah Khan has been appointed as law secretary for the period of three years on contract basis. Shabbir Ahmad, a grade-21 officer, has been appointed as additional secretary finance military Islamabad and Hamid Khan has been appointed as additional secretary military Rawalpindi in his place.
AIG Islamabad Sultan Azam has been transferred to the Punjab Police division.
