The militant group, Ansarul Mujahideen, has claimed the responsibility for Sunday’s attack on a checkpost on Peshawar’s Dala Zack Road, in which four policemen were killed.
The Ansarul Mujahideen, affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), earlier claimed responsibilities for the attacks on the Dera Ismail Khan jail, and the suicide attack on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa law and parliamentary affairs minister Sardar Israrullah Khan Gandhapur.
The group’s spokesman, Abu Baseer, justifying the deadly attacks, said they were in retaliation to the US drone strikes inside Pakistan.
Baseer had said the group had killed the law minister to avenge the death of its two fighters during the DI Khan jailbreak, for which the TTP had claimed responsibility.
The spokesman warned that such activities would continue until the drone strikes stopped.
