Police on Tuesday raided a house in Abbottabad’s suburbs and arrested two terrorists with a large cache of weapons, official said.

DIG Akhtar Hayat said the raid was carried out in Mangal village near Abbottabad on a tip-off.

He said Qari Arshad, commander of a banned terrorist outfit, and his companion, were arrested and a huge cache of arms, explosives and other arms were recovered from their possession.

Hayat said remote-controlled devices, detonators, local-made bombs, cylinder filled with explosives, rockets, suicide jackets and hundreds of rounds were also recovered.

One police officer was injured in firing during the raid, the DIG said, adding that six suspects were also arrested.

Hayat said terrorists were plotting an attack on the military academy in Kakul, the country’s largest and most sensitive military academy.
