Rangers and police arrested more than 40 suspects during a targeted operation in different areas of Karachi.
According to Rangers official, raids were conducted in Landhi, Haryana Colony, Bohra Pir, Afshani Gali, Gabol Park, Model Colony, Mill Area Lyari, New Karachi, Frontier Colony, Gul Plaza, Baldia Town, Jamali Goth, Younasabad, French Beach, Hawks Bay, Bakhshan Goth and P&T Colony .
37 suspects, including workers of political parties wanted in serious crimes, were detained during the operation, Rangers personnel said.
On the other hand, Lyari gang war’s key suspect Asif Mirza was arrested during joint operation in the surroundings of Jahangir Road and Jamshed Road.
Asif Mirza is wanted in hundreds of extortion and kidnapping for ransom cases.
Police also arrested two suspects from Baloch Colony and another suspect from Mehmoodabad area.
According to police, two absconders were among those arrested during raids. Heavy arms were also seized from their possession.
