“There is a need to create awareness among people about heart diseases as these could be prevented through precautionary measures.”
This was said by Senate Chairman Nayyar Hussain Bukhari while addressing a seminar on the occasion of “International Heart Day” at a local hospital on Saturday.
The seminar was attended by the people from different walks of life including experts of heart diseases.
Nayyar Bhukhari said commemoration of this day was aimed to create awareness among the people at grassroots level as heart diseases were increasing.
He stressed the need to control the factors leading to heart diseasesn including lack of exercise, smoking, inappropriate diet, high blood pressure and others.
He said that every person should bear the responsibility to keep the surroundings clean.
He appreciated the efforts of local hospital for organising such awareness seminar.
The chairman urged to establish more hospital in Islamabad.
He said that sustainable democratic system was necessary to address the issues of people.
Expert of heart diseases Dr Shahbaz Qureshi said heart diseases were a major factor of deaths across the world.
The diseases were increasing among men, women and children due to intake of inappropriate diet, he added.
He said the treatment of heart diseases was expensive but these could be controled through precautionary measures.
