Special committee to liaison between industry and govt. depts

• Special committees constituted to coordinate between government departments and FRIA

Special committees have been constituted to coordinate between various government departments and 400 industrial units of Ferozepur Road Industrial Association (FRIA).

These committees would act as a liaison between industry and government departments to discuss issues relating to police (law and order situation), LESCO and SNGPL (electricity and gas), social security services for industrial workers, encroachment, sewerage and drainage problems, roads and transportation, provision of emergency services, fire-fighting, primary health care including maternity health care and up gradation of already existing services provided by the government.

The committees would also be responsible for quick disposal of the grievances of the FRIA members. A monthly review meeting of the out-come of these committees would be held at the office of Secretary Industries, Commerce and Investment.

The decision was taken in a meeting of Secretary Industries, Commerce and Investment Irfan Ali with the representatives of FRIA on Saturday. Senior officers of Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122), Labour Department, Punjab Industrial Estates (PIE), Environment Protection Authority, PIDMEC Sundar Industrial Estate, TEVTA, WASA, Police and Tehsil Municipal Office Nishter Town were also present at the occasion.

A large number of FRIA members, industrialists from textile, garment, pharmaceutical, packing, tread and textile accessories, marble, iron and steel, engineering and paints, food and other sectors attended the meeting.

The Secretary of the association gave a comprehensive presentation to the IC&I secretary and appraised him about various issues related to different government departments.
