Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is presently on an official visit to Turkey, has said that he would decide the time and procedure for the release of Taliban leader Mullah Ghani Baradar from prison when he returns to Pakistan on September 19.
Talking to media personnel, the PM said the decision to set Mullah Baradar free was taken during Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s recent visit to Pakistan.
“Pakistan has made it clear that Baradar would not be handed over to Afghanistan directly,” said Nawaz.
According to sources, Baradar could be extradited to Turkey or Saudi Arabia.
