In a joint action, law enforcement and intelligence agencies apprehended an alleged activist of al Qaeda in Lahore late on Monday night.

According to media reports, the suspect, a student of Science College Lahore, was found involved in suspicious activities hinting at his links with al Qaeda.

The reports also said the arrested man’s father was an employee of the PunjabUniversity.

This is the second such arrest in under a week as an allegedly al Qaeda-affiliated man of Arab descent was arrested by agencies after a raid on one of the PunjabUniversity’s hostels on September 11.

According to the reports, the man had led to the arrest of at least eight other accused.

Pictures of Aafia Siddiqui and other al Qaeda leaders were also found hanging on the walls of the hostel room he was staying in.
