Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday stated that the government is preparing a five year plan and to put the country on the path of sustainable development.

Addressing a news conference along with Malaysian Minister Dato Sri Idris Jala, Ahsan Iqbal said “we want to learn lessons from the success stories of Malaysia and other friendly countries to make these plans implementable and successful”.

He added that both Pakistan and Malaysia have agreed to continue engagements and cooperation in order to reform and improve the service delivery of the public
sector.

He regretted that no proper planning was done during the last fourteen years for energy sector. He however, was confident that with the emergence of
political stability, the country can now fully exploit its true potential.

  1. We hear again our likeable Minister for Planning and Developement is preparing a 5 year plan which he says will be sustainable (whatever that means) possibly he means implementable showing amounts of money for each project and the time span for completion. So come on Ahsan Sahib let us have it soon as possible

  2. Its easy to use big words planning, implementation etc. but how to complete and carry out the promises made to the nation in general election. To comply with the words and promises is not in the books of PML N Ministers They are another dodgers like Zardari government Too much talk but no action. People were cheated with their votes and they hardly trust them
