Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Khalid Masood Chaudhary has said that entry tests of medical and dental colleges would be held on September 22.
At a meeting held at his office he directed the district administrations of Rawalpindi and Attock to make foolproof security arrangements and to establish information centres at each centre to facilitate candidates.
The meeting was attended by Regional Police Officer Rawalpindi Faheem-uz-Zaman, District Coordination Officers (DCOs) Rawalpindi and Attock, Sajid Zafar and Iqbal Hasan, ADCG Muhammad Ali Randhawa, CTO Rawalpindi Ishtiaq Hussain Shah, EDO Health Dr Zafar Iqbal Gondal and representatives of the education department and University of Health Sciences (UHS).
Four centres including Govt. Post Graduate College for Women, Govt. College for Boys, Satellite Town, Siddique Public School, 6th Road and Ideal Cambridge School would be made in Rawalpindi while one centre would be established in District Attock at Cadet College Hasanabdal.
The commissioner instructed officials to depute female police officers at every centre. He said that DCOs would receive examination material from Lahore and after the end of the test would hand it over to the concerned officials in Lahore.
The Commissioner said that Rescue 1122 ambulances should be available at each centre along with the ambulances of district governments and fire brigade vehicles.
He further directed traffic police officials to regulate the traffic on roads situated along the centres to help candidates reach their respective centres on time. “Waiting rooms should be made for those accompanying the candidates. Mobile phones and hand bags should be collected on counters against issuance of token,” he added.
Furthermore, UHS representatives apprised the meeting that entry test forms were available at Rawalpindi Medical College (RMC) till August 30 for Rs 20.
Khalid Masood directed WAPDA officials to not suspend power from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm on September 22 and instructed the DCOs to install generators in case of power breakdown.
