Federal minister for water and power says PM working hard to make Pakistan ‘Asian Tiger’
Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif on Sunday said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government was aware of the masses’ problems and was trying to achieve a proper and quick solution, adding that load shedding would end within the next three years.
The minister was talking to members of the National Assembly, provincial assemblies, traders, industrialists, exporters and others at his residence in Sialkot.
Asif said the PML-N government wanted to make Pakistan a true nation of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah by protecting the ideology of Pakistan.
According to Asif, “The nation is now moving towards economic stability as the democratic system is strengthening in the country due to the economic and political policies of the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who is working hard to make Pakistan an Asian Tiger.”
The minister said the ongoing anti-electricity theft operation would be expanded to all other provinces as the PML-N government had taken all the provinces into confidence.
He claimed that the PML-N government’s anti-electricity load shedding strategy was successful in Punjab.
“Electricity theft will not be tolerated and stern action will be taken against the perpetrators,” he said.
Asif urged the masses to stop the unnecessary use of electricity and cooperate with the government to end electricity load shedding.
“Citizens should refrain from damaging national property during demonstrations as the protection of national property is the duty of everyone in the country,” he said.
The minister said the Nandipur power plant would generate 400 megawatts electricity.
“Work on the power plant is going on speedily,” he said.
He said the present government had increased the power supply to the national grid and hence, managed to reduce the duration of load shedding across the country.
