Railways security beefed up after Shalimar Express blast

The Pakistan Railways administration beefed up security of important buildings and trains after a blast in Shalimar Express near Toba Tek Singh on Monday.
According to railway sources, additional police personnel were deployed for security at the Railways Headquarters, Divisional Superintendent offices, railway stations and other important buildings.
Strict checking of passengers’ luggage was ordered at the Lahore and Cantonment railway stations. All the passengers now enter the railway platforms after thorough checking via metal detectors and walkthrough gates.
The Railways General Manager (GM) ordered his staff to remain vigilant to avert any untoward incident.
The passengers were also urged to inform the police if they saw any unattended luggage or shady person onboard.
