Another day in Quetta: a murder, a kidnapping and three injuries

On Saturday a trader was kidnapped, one person killed and three others injured in separate incidents in different areas of Balochistan.
Police officials said that unidentified armed personnel opened indiscriminate fire on a man at Killa Abdullah Chaman’s National Highway. He sustained serious wounds and succumbed to his injuries while the assailants fled soon afterwards.
Police rushed to the site upon receiving information of the incident and shifted the dead body to hospital where the deceased was identified as Ahmed Khan. The motive behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.
In another incident Balochistan National Party-Awami (BNP-A)’s Muhammad Ismail Sheikh and two of his companions were injured in an armed attack in Khuzdar.
The BNP-A leader was on his way home when unknown armed personnel opened fire on the vehicle he was travelling in. He resultantly received bullet injuries but his condition was later stated to be out of danger. The police started an investigation into the firing.
Moreover, a trader was kidnapped by unknown personnel in Quetta’s Satellite town.
One Haji Ishaq Mughal was on his way to his shop when three unknown armed individuals took him on gun point and drove him away after bundling him into a car.
The police registered a case against the kidnapers and an investigation into the matter is underway.
