CEC Fakharudin G Ibrahim has resigned and left the office. Let me pay my tributes to this 85-year-old man who conducted general elections and then presidential elections and cleaned lot of mess in the system. The politicians of our country are in the habit of ridiculing everyone. But no one has the courage to say that Fakhru bhai conducted elections when the country had been pushed to the wall due to mismanagement and chaos created by these very politicians. In a country where money rules, where vindictiveness and vendetta is the way of our lives, where terrorists can blow up whatever and whenever they want and the country where rule of law is matter of old library books, Fakhru bhai conducted elections even in the tattered Balochistan, not to speak of FATA and other sensitive areas of the country.
Of course Karachi is not to be forgotten. He is accused of a silly thing: holding presidential elections on 30th July instead of 6th August as if the results would have been different on the latter date. He held elections at the orders of the SC. Was he wrong in upholding the decision of the SC? I am sure those who flouted SC left, right and centre are exasperated at his upholding of the SC decision. My tributes to the old man. I wish him health and long life.
Fakery Bhai is a man with credibility and dignity. Those who criticise him should look at themselves. What were the Parliamentary Comm of various political parties doing, when they knowingly awarded ticket to those who held fake degrees, dual nationalities and have been habitual in willfull loan defaults.
Fakhroo bhai is a good man but not a. Great EC He is too. Old well over a working age He should have refused to accept this high profile and with heavy responsibility job If you ask me he was planted on this job He made mockery of his position Why has he resigned. He should be. On job to complete the disputed areas where election were rigged He. Says elections were fair. Most probably he does not bother to see TV where rigging was shown. He totally failed owing to his being too old. No words of commendation for Fakhroo bhai
