Youm-e-Ali (RA) security plan finalised

Security plan has been finalised for the mourning processions which would be organised in different areas of the metropolis to observe Youm-e-Ali (RA) on Ramazan 21st (corresponding with July 31).
Besides deployment of Rapid Response Force, police commandos and officials of Specialised Unit of Police, additional deployment of policemen would also be ensured on that day.
This was stated in a report regarding security arrangements for last 10 days of Ramadanul Mubarak, specially on Youm-e-Ali.
The report had been submitted to Sindh Inspector General of Police Shahid Nadeem Baloch, said a statement on Sunday.
The report said the police commandos would be deployed at Nishtar Park, Tibet Centre, Kharadar, Empress Market, Boulton Market and Mehfil-e- Shah-e- Khurassan.
The IGPP had reviewed the report about the security plan and directed the CID and Special Branch to immediately convey the information about suspected activities or elements to the field staff of the police, as well as make effective coordination in security arrangements.
He also directed to ensure deployment of Bomb Disposal Squad, fire brigade and ambulances on important points along the route of mourning processions and at the venues hosting religious gatherings.
He also directed to deploy policemen at high-rise structures, roof-tops, watch towers and ordered the officials concerned to take concrete steps to ensure patrolling by motorcycle police squads on the route of processions.
The Sindh Police chief directed to make appropriate security arrangements for protection of the faithful who would observe “Aitekaaf”.
He further directed the officials concerned to take effective measures for random snap checking and patrolling in the city.
