The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday took notice of a news regarding the non-arrest of the accused involved in abducting and later murdering a10-year-old child from Lahore’s Nawab Town.
The LHC’s complaint cell took serious notice of the episode and directed the district and sessions judge concerned to look into the matter and submit his report and comments within a week.
According to reports, unknown personnel kidnapped Abdul Moeez, the son of the Judicial Colony’s resident Muhammad Aslam. The following day, the child’s body was found in a cricket kitbag in the area of Samanabad.
Reports stated that the family of Moeez alleged Naveed alias Mithu as responsible for the heinous crime in light of Mithu’s ‘suspicious activities’, but the police received heavy bribes and later declared him innocent.
After this incident, the investigation was shifted from the local police to the CIA but no progress resulted.
According to a news report, CIA’s DSP told the press that the family of the victim were not cooperating with the police and disallowing the arrest of certain wanted personnel.
