Work in Bara Kahu and Kurri Road Schemes would be accelerated to deliver plots and houses to allottees on time.
Minister of State for Housing and Works Barrister Usman Ibrahim presided over a meeting on Monday and showed his concern over the slow progress of work in the schemes. Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) Managing Director Tariq Mahmood Pirzada briefed the meeting.
Secretary Housing Habibullah Khattak, Joint Secretary Amna Imran, senior officers of PHA, Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF), National Construction Limited, National Housing Authority and Pakistan Public Work Development (Pak-pwd) were also present.
The minister was also given an update on draft National Housing Policy by the National Construction Limited team. The team explained about parameters of three and five marla plots and houses. The minister appreciated their efforts and also enquired about Ashiana Housing Model. He instructed them that other such programmes may also be studied and analysed for a better comparison. He directed the ministry to hold a conference and invite all stakeholders to have an understanding on proposals to be submitted by various land and construction companies in this regard.
He emphasised on the directions given by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s that all government offices must set clear targets and timelines and make all out efforts to achieve them.
