After winning three consecutive wins, it was a big defeat for Port Qasim Authority against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited in the low scoring pool’s B encounter at the Advance Telecom Ramadan T20 Cup’s match played on Friday in the National Stadium, Karachi.
PQA, after they chose to bat, could only score mere 72 runs in their 20 overs. From the outset, it was a sorry state of affairs for them as SNGPL bowlers bowled brilliantly and took wickets at regular intervals. No batsmen of PQA could settle in at the crease. Mohammad Salman with his 24 runs and Khurram with 11 runs were the only players for PQA who went into double figures as rest of its batsmen disappointed the team. Yasir Shah with a haul of 3 wickets for 11 was the leading wicket -taker for SNGPL. Samiullah and Bilawal chipped in with two wickets each.
Opener, Taufeeq Umar 45 runs not out were enough for SNGPL to chase the target in 14.5 overs with 31 balls remaining. Azam Hussain and Irshad Khan with two and one wickets respectively, were the only successful bowlers for PQA.
Scores: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited 73 for 3 (Taufeeq 45*, Yasir 3-11, Samiullah 2-4, Bilawal 2-18) beat Port Qasim Authority 72 all out (Salman 24, Azam- 2-17) by 7 wickets.
