Pakistan wants resumption of formal composite talks with India to address mistrust, Foreign Office spokesman Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry said on Friday.
Addressing a weekly news briefing‚ the FO spokesman said, “At the beginning of the backdoor channels with India, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has appointed former senior diplomat Shahryar Khan to conduct track-II diplomacy,” adding that the designated ambassador had visited India and conveyed to the leadership there a strong desire of the Pakistani leadership for having good neighbourly relations.
Regarding the incident of the desecration of Holy Quran in Indian-held Kashmir, Chaudhry said the government expressed grave concern over the incident, adding that “this incident has hurt the sentiments of the people of Pakistan as well as of the entire Muslim world”.
He said the Indian government had expressed its intention to carry out the investigation into the sacrilegious act. “We hope the probe will be held expeditiously and those involved in the act will be brought to justice,” he added.
Asked about the revelations made by a former Indian official that New Delhi had planned the Mumbai and parliament attacks‚ the FO spokesman said Islamabad had asked its high commission in New Delhi to approach the Indian government to ascertain the truthfulness of the report attributed to former Indian official Satish Verma.
He said according to the preliminary response‚ India had denied that any such statement had been made by Verma. “We‚ however‚ would ask India to give us more details in this regard.”
About the visit of Pakistan judicial commission to India‚ Chaudhry hoped the visit will stay on course. He said cooperation between Pakistan and India was essential in countering terrorism.
Asked whether Pakistan had the desire to review its policy on drone attacks‚ Chaudhry said the policy of the current government on the matter was not a hidden secret.
“Pakistan has forcefully raised the issue of the drone attacks with the United States‚ which are in violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty as well as that of the international laws.”
He said the drone attacks were counterproductive because these were further fanning militancy. “We have a strong position on drone attacks and a debate has also started in the international community against them. Pakistan will continue to raise this issue with the US at all the forums.”

US has jailed two Pakistani origin terrorists- Tawwur Rana and Dawood Geelani (David Headley) in 26/11 terror case, India has hanged Ajmal Kasab why there is no progress in case in Pakistan ?
Apart from 26/11 terror attack, stop terrorism against all neigbhours.
As and when talk resume please tell us what are you bringing to the table. Do not come like b ggars with a list of demands seeking concessions. Tell us what are you going to offer us.
The state of J & K is an integral part of India and only area which in under Paki control PoK will be discussed.
What about your own former officer statement ?. you forget that statement Indian government involved in 26/11 and in other past terrorism but verma was forced to take back his words. Everybody knows Indian terrorism in Pakistan especially in Balochistan India funded and supported terrorists continuous to destabilize Balochistan and whole Pakistan.As far about J&K its not your internal part but unsolved issue.Only Kashmiri peoples have right to decide.
Little knowledge is a dangerous thing. What did the officer say ? One retired officer alleged that he heard another officer saying so. It only means that this angle was also probed during investigations. 26/11 terror attacks by Pakistan had shaken the world and citizens of 6 countries were killed in the attacks. India had to share investigations with all these countries. Do you think all of them have no sense ? It was after seeing all the evidences, including audio-video recordings, that United Nations Security Council banned your Jamat ud Dawa and LeT. It was after all investigatiions by FBI that two Pakistanis origin terrorists- Dawood Gilani and Tawwur Rana were convicted of their roles in 26/11 terror attacks. It was after getting evidences that your over clever Govt was forced to admit role of Pakistan based terror outfits who were called "non-state actors' by your Gilani and Zardari. There is case registered in Pakistan in this regard. India can do all this drama but it can not stop an officer ? hahahahah The problem with you Pakistanis is that you can never think rationally. You pretend not to see an elephant but claim to have seen a leece in neigbhour's head. Has anyone reacted anywhere in the world?
Who is this "everybody" who knows India's terrorism in Baluchistan ? When, where and to whom you presented even a shred of an evidence about Baluchistan ? Sunni Punjabi Muslims are responsible for genocide of non-punjabi Pakistanis. You first eliminated Hindus, Christians, Ahmdiyas and now Shia Hazaras. Even their mosques and graveyards are not spared. You can not go lower than this. The fact is this that you Muslims can not live without bloodshed. It is part of your psyche from Prophet's time. You do not have common sense to understand that sheer intensity and frequency of attacks across entire Pakistan clearly establishes that all the resources of terrorists are within Pakistan, and not outside. These are same jehadis whom you made killing machines..now they want their food….so it is cannibalism. J&K is an integral part of India, and unresolved issue part pertains to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Kashmir does not belong to Kashmiri Muslims or your proxies. They are not happy, they can leave.
